The ceramic is fired at high temperatures to give it its hardness.Most of the Talavera ceramic items are first hand-painted with a white coat.The decoration is then drawn over the first coat of paint.You may find that it has some imperfections, due to its hand-made nature, but it is what makes it all the more unique. Because the switch plate is handcrafted and hand-painted, no two switch plates are the same! There may be small variations in size and color. This switch plate makes for a unique accent to any hacienda, country, or southwestern style home. This particular design is multicolor.
